Field of Interest Fund - Adam R. Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund Grant

The Adam R. Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund Grant supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Washington County, Maryland, helping them engage in inclusive and competitive athletics. This initiative, part of a broader community foundation, aims to remove barriers related to high costs of adaptive sports equipment and ensure equal opportunities for these athletes. By promoting inclusion and respect, the fund aspires to foster a community where all athletes can thrive.

This Community Foundation was created by and for the people of Washington County MD, and exists to improve the quality of life for all of our citizens, now and for generations to come, by building community endowments, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.
Field of Interest Funds communicate a donor’s preference to provide support to initiatives within an area of special interest, such as the arts, education or a specific demographic.
The mission of the Adam R Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund is to provide support and opportunities to individuals with intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) who live in Washington County, Maryland and who seek to participate in inclusive, competitive athletics.
The Adam R Barnhart Inclusive Athlete Fund understands high costs of adaptive sports equipment and other expenses related to accessing and participating in sports-related programming.

Opportunities supported must be for individuals with intellectual or development disabilities (IDD) and individuals must live in Washington County, Maryland.
