Federal TRIO Programs

Overview: The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are a set of federal initiatives and student support services created to identify and offer assistance to individuals coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Focus Areas: TRIO encompasses eight distinct programs with a focus on aiding:

  • Low-income individuals

  • First-generation college students

  • Those with disabilities
  • Geographic Scope: Spans from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs
