FCU Foundation for Our Communities Grant

The Frankenmuth Credit Union Foundation for Our Communities was formed to provide grants to promote the betterment of local communities. Consideration is given to organizations that meet the IRS guidelines for non-profit organizations (501(c)(3) and/or 501(c)(4)); the request must serve a need within Frankenmuth Credit Union's field of membership and support charitable purposes furthering the betterment of the communities FCU serves; and consideration is given to entities or members with an established relationship with FCU. The Foundation targets 30% of funds dispersed for youth-related purposes, 40% for community-related purposes and 30% to other. Funds cannot be used for current general operating or maintenance expenses, cannot support one religion over another, cannot support a particular political representative, party or cause, and will not fund individuals except in the case of scholarships. Over $4.6 million has been donated since 2014, with over $438,300 donated in 2025 alone to over 400 community causes. Communities supported include Bad Axe, Bay City, Birch Run, Bridgeport, Caro, Cass City, Flint, Frankenmuth, Midland, Owosso, Saginaw, Vassar and West Branch, Michigan, among others.

Box 209, Frankenmuth MI 48734, or drop it off at any Frankenmuth Credit Union office marked attention marketing. The foundation board meets once a quarter and applications must be received by the first of the month in which the board meets. Applicants may be asked to present in person to the FCU Foundation for Our Communities board.
