Program Overview:
Fast Track Literary Grants support new or existing public literary programs. Since 2015, SC Humanities has awarded 114 Fast Track Literary Grants for diverse projects including writers series, author talks, festivals, conferences, workshops, and writer's residencies.

Eligible Project Types:

  • Writers series

  • Literary conferences

  • Writing workshops

  • Other public literary programs

  • Boys and Girls Club's "Girls Write Poetry and Performance Workshops"
  • Funding Information:

  • Maximum amount per round: $2,500

  • Most recent deadline: October 15, 2025

  • One fall 2025 deadline was reopened with support from the South Carolina Arts Commission
  • Funding Suspension:
Due to termination of SC Humanities' federal grant funding by DOGE in April 2025, most grant opportunities have been suspended. The fall 2025 Fast Track Literary Grant deadline was a special exception made possible by South Carolina Arts Commission support. Currently, Fast Track Literary Grants are on hiatus while SC Humanities advocates for renewed federal funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and state humanities councils in FY2026.
