Farmers Union Enterprises Leadership (FUEL) Program

Geographic Scope: Multi-state program involving Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin Farmers Union

Focus Areas: Leadership development, communication skills, agricultural knowledge expansion, networking

Eligibility:

• Producers (farmers and ranchers)
• Must be Farmers Union members
• Four participants selected annually from North Dakota

Program Structure:

• Typically involves three main events:
  1. National Farmers Union convention (early March)
  2. Summer outing
  3. NFU Fly-in to Washington, D.C. (September)
• Also includes state convention attendance
• Each participating state brings four producers plus state president

Program Goals:

• Develop leadership and communication skills
• Expand knowledge about Farmers Union
• Build professional networks across multiple states
• Share agricultural experiences and perspectives
