Overview

King County Department of Community and Human Services - Housing and Community Development Division The Housing and Community Development Division (HCD) of the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) invests in the creation and preservation of affordable housing and community development projects by working collaboratively with local cities, housing authorities, developers, state and federal agencies, nonprofits, and community members. Key Programs/Initiatives: Affordable housing development, capital operating, services; Health Through Housing; Community development and housing repair; Homeless Housing Program; and Affordable Housing Committee. Family Child Care Facilities Fund (FCCFF) RFP The King County Department of Community and Health Services (DCHS) Housing and Community Development Division (HCDD) is pleased to release this Request for Proposal (RFP) to support new investments designed to promote maintenance, repairs and improvements needed for existing Family Child Care Facilities (FCCF). This Family Child Care Facilities Fund (FCCFF) RFP will support these investments through the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA) Early Learning Facilities (ELF) funding category. Investment Purpose PSTAA Family Child Care Facilities Fund (FCCFF) investments are intended to increase access to high-quality early learning opportunities by preserving, improving and expanding early learning facilities in King County. There is a two-pronged approach for achieving these outcomes: Reduce educational achievement gaps for priority populations by ensuring that more children develop the physical, behavioral, and cognitive abilities to thrive in kindergarten.Expand and strengthen the early learning system in King County by providing resources to family child care homes and larger, stand-alone centers alike.
