Overview:
Following the rejection of a 2014 operating-levy request, the school district raised pay-to-participate fees for extracurricular activities. In response, several community families established a fund at the New Albany Community Foundation to provide scholarships for students who qualify based on need.
Impact:
- Since program inception, 250+ students have received scholarships
- Average scholarship: $360 (ranging from $288 to $418)
- Over 100 students receive scholarships annually
- Supports participation in both athletics and other extracurricular activities
