Exterior Signage Grant Program

Overview: This program provides eligible business owners with a grant of up to $5,000 for exterior signage installation or upgrades. Funding can be used for wall signs, window signage, or street level monument signs.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Applicants:

  • Locally owned businesses - The business must have some form of local ownership

  • Corporate entities with multiple locations are not eligible

  • Franchise businesses with local ownership will be considered on a case-by-case basis

  • If the business owner is not the property owner, written permission from the property owner to install the desired sign is required as a supplemental attachment

    • Project Requirements:

  • All exterior signage must be visible from the street

  • Must enhance the curb appeal of the property

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    Submission Timeline:

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round until funding is exhausted for the calendar year

    • Application Requirements:

  • Include as much information as possible to increase likelihood of project selection

  • If providing matching funds, include that information on the application

  • Submit via online application portal

    • Notification Timeline:

  • Applicants recommended for funding will be notified within two weeks of application receipt

    • Grant Terms and Conditions:

  • Matching Funds: Up to $5,000 in funding available; no matching funds required, but the One South Euclid Grant Review Committee will consider the applicant's ability to provide matching funds when making decisions

  • Grant Agreement: Business owners enter into a grant agreement with One South Euclid; OSE will pay the contractor upon satisfactory project completion

  • City Approvals: Project must obtain all City approvals prior to work commencing, including Architectural Review Board (ARB) approval

  • Inspections: Satisfactory project completion includes necessary building inspections and sign-off from the Building Department before grant funds are paid

  • Approval Timeline: Approval process must be initiated with the City within 2 months of signing the grant agreement

  • Project Completion: Project must be completed within 6 months of signing the grant agreement
