EWVCF Human Welfare Grant

The EWVCF Human Welfare Grant supports nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties, West Virginia, providing essential assistance to vulnerable populations. Established by the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation in 1995, this grant aims to uplift sick, needy, and disadvantaged individuals by funding programs that promote equity and inclusion. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, public schools, and civic groups, fostering a diverse range of community-focused initiatives.

Human Welfare Grants
Human Welfare Grants will be awarded to support Eastern Panhandle programs that provide assistance to sick, needy, dependent, neglected, or disadvantaged persons.

Eligibility

Eligible Organizations: The Community Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations providing a wide range of direct benefits in Morgan, Berkeley, and/or Jefferson counties of West Virginia.
Organizations will only be able to submit one application per funding category.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:An already existing nonprofit, 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(13) organization in good standing with the IRS, or
An existing government/quasi-governmental agency, or public school applying for a project that is not funded by tax revenue, or
A religious organization requesting funding for a non-sectarian charitable purpose, or
A civic group that is not a 501(c)(3) organization requesting funding for a charitable community cause.501(c)(3) organizations must be in good standing with: West Virginia Secretary of State’s Business & Licensing and also the Charities Division, and IRS, as assessed via IRS Pub 78 and GuideStar
If you received a 2022 Winter/Spring grant from EWVCF, you must finish your final grant report before any application you submit now will be considered by our Grants Committee.
