Esalen Scholarships

Esalen scholarships provide financial support for public programs at Esalen Institute. Awards range from 50 to 90 percent of the cost of tuition and accommodations.

Mission: The scholarship program is funded through the generosity of donors and is designed to make Esalen accessible to anyone seeking to deepen their purpose, regardless of financial capacity. "Money should never stand in the way of human potential."

Geographic Scope

• Open to applicants nationwide (recipients include individuals from Los Angeles CA, Inglewood CA, Culver City CA, Lincoln CA, and other locations)
• Program located in Big Sur, CA

Eligibility Requirements

• Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old
• Financial Need: Demonstrate financial need
• Application Timeline: Applications must be received at least 45 days prior to program start date
• Required Documentation:

- Fiscal documentation
- Personal essay outlining intentions for participating in an Esalen program

• Tuition and accommodations for public programs
• Award range: 50-90% of program costs

What They Don't Fund

• Full program costs (partial awards only)
