Equity in Civics Youth Fellowship

Program Type: Paid fellowship for high school students

Geographic Scope: United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico

Target Audience: Rising 9th–12th grade students

  • Program Duration: 10-month virtual program with in-person gathering

    Key Activities:

  • Research issues of equity in civic education in school communities

  • Engage in group projects and guided discussion

  • Build and lead student voice campaigns

  • Learn about media, video editing, and civic engagement

  • Network with high school students from across the country

  • In-person gathering in Washington D.C. (expenses paid by program)
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. student in high school during the fellowship year

  • Interested in civics, education, equity, government, history, justice, or politics

  • Ability to attend in-person gathering in Washington D.C.

  • Must have educator/mentor nomination
