Funder: Partners for Environmental Progress (PEP)

Geographic Scope: Gulf Coast region, including Mobile and Baldwin County areas in Alabama

Purpose: To recognize PEP member companies, non-profit organizations, and municipalities whose work has made significant and positive contributions to the Gulf Coast region in three crucial areas: economic growth, environmental health, and social responsibility.

Program Overview:

Established in 2005

Recognizes innovative and unique approaches to solving environmental problems or reducing environmental impacts

Honors both large and small businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipalities

Focus on best practices and innovation, not simply overall environmental impact

Quality, creativity, and commitment are valued

Award Categories:

Member company awards for innovation in:

- Environmental remediation and restoration projects
- Emissions reduction and hazardous waste reduction
- Water quality improvement and treatment
- Community partnership and stewardship initiatives
- Sustainable business practices
- Employee engagement in environmental stewardship

Oyster reef restoration initiatives

Wastewater treatment innovations

Downtown revitalization and urban restoration

Eligibility:

Must be current PEP member company or organization in good standing

Projects must demonstrate environmental innovation and best practices

Non-profit organizations and municipalities also eligible
