It aims to improve public health by strengthening laboratory capacities, workforce development, and bio-risk management. Key activities include reinforcing emergency preparedness aligned with outbreak response and enhancing diagnostic capabilities through rapid testing and genomic sequencing. Countries previously funded under related initiatives may apply for expanded efforts, especially in under-resourced settings, ensuring a broader impact on health protection worldwide.Overview
Activities under this NOFO will focus on protecting and improving public health globally by: strengthening public health laboratory systems; improving public health laboratory workforce; improving bio risk management; reinforcing emergency laboratory preparedness in alignment with 7-1-7 outbreak response paradigm; enhancing laboratory quality management systems and;enhancing diagnostic capacity via rapid tests for low resource settings and genomic sequencing for pathogens of pandemic potential.
