Energy – Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) National Grant Program

Supports retrofit or replacement of existing diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment with certified engine configurations and verified retrofit and idle reduction technologies.Eligible diesel vehicles, engines, and equipment include:BusesClass 5 – Class 8 heavy-duty highway vehiclesLocomotivesMarine enginesNonroad engines and equipment used in construction, handling of cargo (including at ports and airports), agriculture, mining, or energy production (including stationary generators and pumps).

• Match Required: 0% to 75% of total project cost depending on the technology used

Notes

Prospective applicants should note that Vermont is not included on the DERA Priority Area List.Funds awarded under this program cannot be used to fund emission reductions mandated by federal law.
