Endowed Scholarships

Overview: An endowed scholarship is created to exist in perpetuity at Valencia College Foundation.

Key Details:

Minimum Gift: $25,000 to create a named endowed scholarship

Disbursement: Earnings generate approximately 3-5% of account value annually based on a rolling 3-year average, subject to market conditions and foundation board policy

Fund Corpus: The endowment fund corpus may not be used for disbursements

Timing: When a gift commitment is made, the scholarship is pending endowment and will begin disbursement no sooner than one year from the date the scholarship is fully endowed at $25,000 and has four full quarters in the investment pool

Supplementation: The scholarship may be supplemented at any time and will increase the amount available for disbursement

Application Process

Scholarship applicants must:
1. Be currently enrolled at Valencia College
2. Be working toward a degree or technical certificate
3. Apply through the scholarship portal (Scholarship Universe)
4. Receive notification through Valencia email address if awarded
5. Submit a thank you letter to the donors (in PDF format to foundationscholarships@valenciacollege.edu)
