Endorsement Scholarship

Murray Education Foundation's Teacher Endorsement Scholarship supports Murray City School District educators who are dedicated to advancing their own skills and experience to support students. This scholarship seeks educators who exhibit a genuine passion for fostering the academic and personal growth of all learners.

Award Details:

• Up to $1,600 of funding available for the 2025-26 school year
• Support for one or possibly two scholarships
• Award letters anticipated within 30 days of application close date

Funding Covers:

• Registration and course fees
• Course required materials
• Payments made directly to institutions or providers

Eligibility Requirements

Educational Background:

• Must hold a valid Utah teaching certification/license
• Demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in undergraduate or graduate coursework

Professional Experience:

• At least two years of teaching experience in a K-12 educational setting
• Evidence of commitment to supporting all learners individually and collectively

Commitment to the Field:

• Personal statement describing passion for teaching students and how the endorsement will enhance teaching practice
• Plan for implementing strategies and programs to serve learners effectively

Recommendation:

• At least one letter of recommendation from a school administrator, colleague, or mentor attesting to applicant's dedication and aptitude for teaching

Community Impact:

• Demonstrated involvement in school or community initiatives relevant to endorsement sought

Scholarship Obligations:

• Commitment to completing the endorsement program within a specified timeframe
• Agreement to continue working at Murray City School District for a minimum of two years post-completion

Selection Process

• Each application reviewed by panel of administrators
• Review period: within 30 days of application close date

Application Process

Application Deadline: January 15 - February 15 (annually)

Required Materials:

1. Personal statement describing passion for teaching and how the endorsement will enhance teaching practice
2. Plan for implementing strategies and programs to serve learners effectively
3. At least one letter of recommendation from school administrator, colleague, or mentor
4. Evidence of community involvement in school or community initiatives
5. Documentation of Utah teaching certification/license
6. Transcript showing minimum 3.0 GPA
7. Proof of at least two years K-12 teaching experience

Selection Timeline:

• Applications reviewed by panel of administrators
• Award letters sent within 30 days of application close date

Submission: Applications submitted online via provided form
