Overview: The Texas State Fire Fighters Emergency Relief and College Scholarship Fund, Inc. provides financial assistance to eligible firefighters and their families during challenging times and hardship situations.

Award Details

• Assistance Amount: Emergency relief is provided in $500 increments
• Maximum Benefit: Up to $1,000 for any single hardship or event
- Initial $500 award available - Additional $500 available if needed

Timeline

• Initial $500: Must be requested within 90 days of the event causing the hardship
• Additional $500: If needed, must be requested within 90 days of receiving the initial $500

Eligibility

• Must be an eligible firefighter or survivor of an eligible firefighter
• Must experience a qualifying hardship situation
• Must submit a complete application within the specified timeframe
• The Fund's Board of Directors makes all eligibility determinations (final decisions)

• Texas (serves 20,496 professional firefighters in 209 Texas communities)
