Program Name Origin: Award given in honor of Eleanor Flanders, the founder of the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley

Geographic Scope: St. Vrain Valley Schools District, Colorado

Award Amount: $2,500 - $3,500 per recipient

Recurrence: Annual, typically awarded to one or two teachers per year

Purpose:
Provide significant travel experiences for teachers with the expectation that the learning and cultural insights gained will be brought back to the St. Vrain Valley School District and integrated into curriculum and classroom instruction.

Eligibility: Teachers employed in St. Vrain Valley Schools District

Selection Criteria:

Original and detailed travel proposals

Solid plan to bring experiences back to SVVSD

Proposal for integrating travel experiences into curriculum

Plans for professional development and cultural exchange

Commitment to sharing learning with students

Application Process: Teachers encouraged to apply and reapply. Foundation notes that many unique and deserving applications are received annually.
