Overview

El Sol Foundation Scholarship

Purpose: Support first-generation students from El Sol Science and Arts Academy in pursuing higher education.

Geographic Scope: Santa Ana, CA area

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Graduated from El Sol Science and Arts Academy

  • Currently graduating from high school

  • Entering 1st year of a bachelor's degree program

  • Qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch program at public/charter high school OR meet comparable family income requirements if enrolled at private school
  • Focus Areas: First-generation college students, low-income Latino students, many who are immigrants or children of immigrants

  • El Sol Science & Arts Academy is a publicly chartered dual immersion school in Santa Ana

  • Serves over 1,000 mostly low-income, Latino students

  • Ranked as top dual immersion school in urban areas and among top 15 urban schools nationally

  • Students attend colleges including Yale, University of Pennsylvania, NYU, UC Berkeley, Stanford, UCI Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Merced, and CSUF
