Edward and Jill Smith Scholarship
Overview:
Established by Dr. Edward Smith, a retired physician and LSSU alumnus, and his wife Jill, a registered nurse. Dr. Smith has practiced in St. Ignace, Michigan since 1986 and received his MD from Michigan State University with a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship from the University of Michigan. He specialized in treating cancer and blood disorder patients in Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula. Jill is an Oncology Nurse at Mackinac Straits Hospital and a Grand Rapids Junior College graduate. In 2018, Dr. Smith received the LSSU Outstanding Alumnus Award.
