Educator Grants - Change Agent Grants

Focus Areas:

  • Learning interventions targeting BIPOC students

  • Initiatives that affirm dignity, inclusivity, and belonging for BIPOC students

  • Projects that strengthen family engagement of BIPOC students

  • Programs advancing empathy, race consciousness, and multicultural connections
  • Geographic Scope: Evanston/Skokie District 65 (IL, US)

    Eligibility:

  • District 65 educators

  • Must complete a REIA (planning process)

  • First-time applicants typically awarded around $3,000

  • Outside agencies must share their budget
  • Award Details:

  • Grants fund academic year programs (August start)

  • Educators create stipends for out-of-school time devoted to the grant

  • School-time grants do not include stipend unless preparation work is done outside school time
  • Review Process:

  • Program Committee reviews all proposals

  • Recommendations made to Board of Directors

  • Successful applicants notified by mid-May

  • Funds disbursed at start of academic year (August)
  • Evaluation Criteria:

  • Explain why proposal is suited for Foundation 65 vs. District 65 support

  • Measurable impact and assessment plan

  • Addresses one of the grant funding areas
  • Grantee Responsibilities:

  • Submit end-of-year evaluation

  • Gather photos and artifacts from implementation

  • Serve as Foundation 65 ambassador

    How to Apply

    Change Agent Grant Application Process

    1. Contact Foundation 65 before submitting to discuss project ideas (optional but encouraged)
    - Email: info@foundation65.org

    2. Submit Proposal electronically via Google Form
    - Deadline: April 12, 2026

    3. Required Components:
    - Complete REIA (planning assessment)
    - Proposal narrative addressing:
    - Why proposal is best suited for Foundation 65 support instead of District 65 support
    - What measurable impact you hope to achieve
    - How you will assess outcomes including successes and growth opportunities
    - How proposal specifically addresses one of the grant funding areas

    4. After Initial Review:
    - Foundation 65 may request additional information
    - Final funding decisions made by Board of Directors

    5. Notification & Funding:
    - Successful applicants notified by mid-May
    - Funds disbursed at start of academic year (August)
