    Projects must fulfill one or more of the Foundation's core missions:

  • Foster and promote public knowledge and appreciation of English Springer Spaniels

  • Further understanding of diseases, genetic anomalies and injuries

  • Support and promote study of breed history, genetics, breeding, and characteristics

  • Establish and maintain databases for charitable, educational and research efforts

  • Develop information for breeders, veterinarians, exhibitors and owners

  • How to Apply

    Educational Grant Application Process

    Submission Format:

  • Written proposal submitted to Foundation Board of Directors

  • Must be mailed (faxed and emailed copies will not be accepted)

  • Include a self-addressed, stamped postcard for acknowledging receipt of application
  • Required Components:
    1. Title of the project
    2. Amount requested
    3. Detailed budget
    4. Project description including:
    - Succinct project plan
    - Timetable
    - Purpose
    5. Name, address and phone number of primary author
    6. Brief description of:
    - Importance of the proposed project
    - Relevance to Foundation's mission

    Evaluation Criteria:

  • Project soundness

  • Relevancy to advancing the Foundation's mission

  • Cost-benefit analysis

  • Credibility of the applicant
  • Post-Award Requirements:

  • Quarterly follow-up reports on project progress

  • Copies of any publications resulting from Foundation funding

  • Terms of grant agreement detailed in award letter or separate document
  • Review Process:

  • Complete Board of Directors reviews and awards educational proposals

  • Formal letter notifies submitter of Board's decision
