Type: Emergency relief and creative project grants for individual artists

Geographic Scope: Eastern and South Eastern Los Angeles County

Target Audience: Individual practicing artists of all disciplines serving or residing in Eastern and South Eastern LA County

Program Focus:

Support for individual artists experiencing financial hardship

Emergency financial relief due to pandemic or economic impacts

Creative project completion funding for work halted due to financial constraints

Artists of all disciplines including visual arts, performing arts, creative crafts, and other artistic occupations

Award Categories:
1. $1,000 grant - For financial emergencies
2. Up to $5,000 grant - To help complete creative projects halted due to financial restraints

Additional Opportunities:

Optional "Show Your Creativity" video submission (not required)

Selected videos featured on En Casa Con La Plaza virtual programming

Historical Context:

Established in 2015 to support local artists and arts organizations

During pandemic, EAI awarded $95,000+ in grant funding across multiple cycles

Total funding awarded since establishment (as of 2021): $960,000

Applicants have included: filmmakers, comedians, theatre technicians, musicians, writers, and various arts disciplines
