Summary

The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) offers Early Career Research Grants to support early-stage scientists in advancing research on psoriasis and related conditions. With over $30 million invested, NPF seeks projects that address treatment and underlying disease mechanisms, promoting diversity within the research community. Grants of up to $50,000 are available for one-year projects, enabling recipients to compete for future funding and establish successful careers in psoriatic disease research.

Overview

Each year, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) awards grants and fellowships that fund work focused on the treatment, prevention, and cure of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and comorbidities. NPF has invested over $30 million in grants and fellowships focused on psoriatic disease and related comorbidities. As a primary goal in the current strategic plan, leading transformational research in psoriatic disease, NPF chooses research projects not only for their potential to yield information that may help treat psoriatic disease, but also to answer basic questions about the underlying disease mechanisms, comorbidities, and public health. Applications undergo a rigorous scientific peer review by a panel of experts. Early Career Research Grants The goal of this award is to support scientists at this challenging early career stage and to welcome them into the collaborative community of scientists, clinicians, and patients involved with NPF research, with particular interest in fostering an increased representation of underrepresented individuals within the research community. Recipients of this award are expected to be able to compete for future funding through NPF Discovery or Translational Research Grants and go on to establish successful long-term careers conducting psoriatic disease research. Budget and Project Period Applicants may request up to $50,000 (direct cost only) per year. The total project period for the application submitted is one year, from October 1st to September 30th.
