Overview: The E.Z. and Helen Milstead Scholarship Program was established in 2005 by E.Z. and Helen Milstead. This scholarship is available for 4 years, assuming that the scholarship candidate meets the eligibility criteria.

Geographic Scope

Eligible School: Franklin High School located in Robertson County, Texas

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant Status: Graduates from Franklin High School located in Robertson County, Texas
• Educational Path: Must attend a 2-year college with plans to transfer to a 4-year institution OR attend a 4-year university
• Academic Requirements: Must have a 3.0 GPA to apply
• Additional Considerations: Financial need, citizenship, and leadership are considered

Award Details

Scholarship Duration: Four years (renewable based on continued eligibility)

Annual Amount: $6,000 per year ($3,000 for Fall semester, $3,000 for Spring semester)

Payment Schedule: Funding provided in two separate payments (payable to the student's college/university):

Fall semester: $3,000

Spring semester: $3,000 (provided if student maintains at least a 2.5 GPA [B letter grade] or better for Fall semester)

Eligible Uses: Tuition, fees, books, and supplies

Continuing Eligibility Requirements

To continue on the scholarship, the scholarship recipient must:
• Be enrolled in 12 hours per semester
• Successfully complete at least 24 semester hours per academic year (not remedial courses and not repeated courses)
• Earn an overall 2.5 or higher GPA each semester
• Note: Dropping courses in order to maintain a 2.5 average will not be allowed for this scholarship
