Purpose: Support students studying abroad and promote global awareness and citizenship in honor of Dr. Jim Fullerton's legacy and commitment to international education.

Scholarship Renamed in Honor of: Dr. Jim Fullerton, professor of management and leadership development at College of Coastal Georgia (Fall 2011 - late October, year of death)

About Dr. Fullerton:

Education:

- Doctorate in Human Sciences from University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- Master's degree in Public Administration from University of Nebraska at Omaha
- Bachelor's in Journalism (Advertising) from University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Career Achievements:

- Taught leadership skills to students
- Third-generation educator who believed in active learning
- Attended over 60 conferences in 25 states and 4 countries
- Published numerous articles in journals and conference proceedings
- Previously developed a minor in leadership studies at Idaho State University as leadership program director
- Taught study abroad courses in Ireland (summers 2019, 2022) and Porto, Portugal (summer 2023)
- Avid international traveler who visited 30 countries on 4 continents
- Backpacked and climbed in the Alps, Andes, and Himalayas
- Promoted cross-cultural understanding and inspired students to step outside their comfort zones
