Overview:
The Foundation has offered this scholarship since 2006 and has distributed a total of $122,845 to date. The scholarship supports area graduating seniors and Beartooth employees who plan to work in rural healthcare.

Eligibility

• Area graduating high school seniors
• Current Beartooth employees
• Must plan to work in rural healthcare

Program Focus (2024/2025)

For the 2024/2025 school year, the Foundation pivoted the scholarship program to support:
• Students enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at Red Lodge High School
• Also available to other Carbon County high school students
• All program students must complete a final written and clinical competency exam with support from Beartooth Billings Clinic Acute Care

Legacy

Applicants are encouraged to learn about the legacy of Dr. James Kane and his family, who gave over 50 years of dedicated service to Carbon County and rural healthcare.
