Overview

Dr. Charles A. Coltman, Jr. Fellowship Program

Overview: Initiated in 2008, this fellowship engages outstanding young investigators from SWOG member institutions in learning clinical trial methodology within an academic and cooperative group environment, while honoring the legacy of long-time SWOG Chair Dr. Charles Coltman.

Purpose: To lead to independent clinical research among early-career oncologists

Eligibility:

  • Oncology fellows in training, OR

  • In the first five years of a junior faculty appointment

  • Must be affiliated with a current SWOG member or affiliated institution at time of submission

  • Must have a mentorship arrangement with a notable Group leader who has proven expertise in clinical trials recruitment and management
  • Application Process:

  • Institutions may nominate up to two candidates annually

  • Individual applicants must have accepted a faculty position at a SWOG member institution
  • Geographic Scope: SWOG member and affiliated institutions
