About Us Making a Difference in Washington State The Washington State Elks Association is essentially a charitable organization. From April 1 through March 31, the Elks of Washington State generate funds and volunteer work in support of our many programs. For over 130 years, the Washington State Elks Association has been actively promoting the principles of our Order and supporting our 35 lodges throughout the state. Our Mission Our purpose is to unite all Elks in closer bonds of fraternity, to promote the interests of the Order, exchange items beneficial to local lodges, foster the virtues of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity, and to further patriotic devotion to the principles of the United States of America. Supporting Communities Across Our State Elks lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course, or pool. Our lodges have provided therapy services to children for over 70 years and supported our veterans for as long as the lodges have been in existence. We continue giving scholarships to students in our communities, promote Americanism, youth activities, and fight the war on drugs through our Drug Awareness Program. Dorothy M. Yothers Second Chances Scholarship This scholarship is designed to help deserving mature women offset some of the costs of achieving their financial goals. Recipients can receive up to $1,000 per quarter based on their specific financial need. This scholarship is renewable up to completion of the course based on a GPA of 3.O. Although Dorothy, the wife of Bob Yothers, Past Grand Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, has flown off to a brighter dawn, her legacy lives on today.Eligibility
