  • Recipients notified in late April via system and invited to celebration event at their school
  • Required Documents to Prepare Before Applying:
    1. Download copy of CUSD high school transcript from Infinite Campus (DOCUMENTS tab, UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT with in-progress classes)
    2. Gather information about all high school activities including:
    - Volunteering
    - Clubs
    - Awards earned
    - Sports
    - Performing arts
    - Other extracurricular involvement
    3. Collect names and contact information of 1-2 references (typically a high school teacher/coach; some donors request an elementary school teacher)
    4. Complete FAFSA form (strongly recommended, though not technically required)

    Application Steps:
    1. Log on and register as a user on the Foundant Scholarship Platform (https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cefscholarship) - Use Google Chrome recommended
    2. Complete the Common Application Questionnaire with multiple questions about yourself
    - Note: Once submitted, cannot be edited; however, can save and return to edit each section before final submit
    3. Have parent/guardian complete FAFSA form online (keeps information confidential and provides consistent way to measure financial need)
    4. Click 'Submit' and review the scholarships listed
    - Some will show "Application Submitted" (complete)
    - Some may show "Application Draft" with supplemental questions and essay prompts
    5. For "Application Draft" scholarships: Complete supplemental information and hit submit for each independent application
    6. Monitor application status through Foundant portal
    7. Volunteer panel will review and evaluate applications; recipients notified through system
