Summary
The Domanada Foundation Grant supports organizations focused on Jesus Christ's mission, prioritizing theological education, leadership development, and justice issues. Established in 1989, the Foundation emphasizes transparency in the grant-making process, fostering direct relationships with applicants. Grants are primarily for new or moderate-sized organizations in the Chicago area and Central/Eastern Europe, aiming to assist with funding base expansion. The Foundation generally avoids multi-year proposals and personal support funding.Overview
NOTE: Please note that all grants must remain entirely anonymous. About Us The Domanada Foundation began in 1989 as a private foundation devoted to leveraging its human and financial resources to advance the cause of Jesus Christ. The Domanada Foundation seeks to help identify and obtain the educational, human and financial resources necessary to support an organization in accomplishing its mission.A stated goal of the Domanada Foundation is to “demystify” the process of grant making. Often it seems that grant applicants feel they have to cautiously probe about, stealthily discerning the exact words and actions required before a foundation agrees to release the desired funds. The Domanada Foundation would like the process of grant making to be open, honest, and transparent on all sides. Thus, our process is almost always through face-to-face conversation rather than impersonal written communication. Strategic Focus Faith Focused With rare exception, we provide financial support to organizations that serve the cause of Jesus Christ. Based on our experience and background, we feel particularly called to help ministries that have a primary focus on theological education, leadership development and issues of justice and compassion. Geographic Focus We work exclusively in the Chicago area and the former communist nations of Central and Eastern Europe (excluding the former Soviet Union). In part, the reason for this narrow focus is our call to spend time with the ministries we support. The Domanada Foundation is located in the western suburbs of Chicago and we travel regularly to Central and Eastern Europe. Institutional Focus The Domanada Foundation works primarily with new, emerging, or moderate sized organizations. Most Domanada Foundation grants grow out of an established relational context. In particular, the Domanada Foundation prefers to make grants when an organization is just getting off the ground or when it is significantly expanding the scope of its ministry.Eligibility
