The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents more than 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world. Future of Physics Days (FPD) travel grants are for undergraduate students who are presenting research at the Undergraduate Research Sessions during the APS Global Physics Summit. Award Details Only one meeting grant per faculty advisor will be awarded. The recipient will be expected to fulfill a volunteer responsibility at the Meeting. The recipient will need to register for the Meeting and handle all travel logistics on their own. Travel funds will be disbursed to students after the conference, once the recipient has fulfilled their volunteer responsibility and the attendee survey. Each student is eligible for up to $500 towards registration and travel costs. Students attending HBCU’s or MSI’s are eligible for extra funding. Establishment and support FPD travel funding is supported in part by the Doc Brown Future Travel Award. The membership of APS is diverse and global, and the nominees and recipients of APS Honors should reflect that diversity so that all are recognized for their impact on our community. Nominations of members belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented in physics, such as women, LGBT+ scientists, scientists who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), disabled scientists, scientists from institutions with limited resources, and scientists from outside the United States, are especially encouraged.Eligibility
