Distinguished Service Award

  • Candidates with past or present significant ties to HES

  • Recognition for outstanding dedication, leadership, and lasting contributions to institutions supporting the history of economics community

  • Note: Former Distinguished Fellows nominated for this award should make a strong case for exceptional treatment, given that Distinguished Fellow recognizes exemplary contributions to HES

    • Award Details:

  • Recognition: Plaque celebrating the achievement

  • Travel Support: Up to $1,000 to attend the presentation ceremony during the HES annual conference

  • Membership: Lifetime honorary membership of the Society with online-only access to JHET

  • Limit: No more than one prize awarded each year

  • Announcement: Award winners announced during the annual HES conference

    • Nomination Process:

  • Nominations received at any time

  • Nominations reviewed by HES Executive Committee in January meeting

  • To be included in January meeting agenda, submit by December 1
