Dirk Nowitzki Foundation Grant

The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation Grant supports 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations dedicated to improving children's wellbeing, health, and education. Established by NBA star Dirk Nowitzki, the foundation aims to uplift children affected by illness, poverty, and neglect. Grants are awarded annually to projects that align with these goals, ensuring impactful experiences for children. Organizations are encouraged to apply, but the foundation does not fund the same organization twice in a calendar year or cover salaries, travel costs, or religious programs.

Background
In December 2007, the NBA honored him with the NBA Community Assist Award in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the community and for his ongoing philanthropic work. Whether it is meeting children throughout the season for the Make-A-Wish Foundation or purchasing and delivering thousands of dollars worth of Christmas toys for children in a local hospital, Dirk loves to give back to children. He says, “Helping kids is one of the best things I get to do as a professional athlete, and it is a privilege to be a part of those events.”

The Foundation lifts up children who are affected by illness, poverty, abuse and neglect through proper channels of guidance and directs them on a path to success.

501(c)(3) non-profit organizations are eligible to apply.

Ineligibility

The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation does not fund the same organization twice in the same calendar year and does not give multi-year grant.
