Overview

Devil Pups Eagle Program

Program Type: Leadership and mentorship program for program alumni

Geographic Scope: California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah

Age Requirements: 14-17 years old

Eligibility: Must be a Devil Pups program graduate

Program Dates: July 5-18, 2026

Program Overview

The Eagle program provides returning graduates with the opportunity to serve as peer mentors and leaders during the annual encampment at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Eagles are held to significantly higher standards than Devil Pups candidates and serve as role models and mentors to current participants.

Service Commitment: Eagles must understand and accept that:

  • Standards and expectations far exceed those of Devil Pups

  • Hours are long and tasks never-ending

  • Serving as an Eagle is demanding, honorable, and a position of privilege

  • Position requires unwavering integrity, initiative, and selfless service
  • Primary Focus

    Eagles serve every Devil Pup with:

  • Compassion

  • Modeling of excellence

  • Positive examples

  • Peer mentoring

  • Safety and success assurance (Priority #1)
  • Expectations

    • Demonstrate positive leadership skills 24/7
    • Participate in leadership discussions with staff
    • Exercise leadership throughout training schedule
    • Support the diverse backgrounds and aspirations of Devil Pups
    • Maintain high personal standards
    • Accept removal from position if standards not met

    Application Fee

    • $150 application fee (charged to selected Eagles only; used to offset increased encampment costs)

    Date & Time: Sunday, July 5, 2026, between 0900-1200

    Location: Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Main Gate/Visitor Center off Vandegrift Blvd

  • From San Diego (South): Take I-5 North to Exit 54B (Camp Pendleton)

  • From Los Angeles (North): Take I-5 South to Exit 54C (Oceanside Harbor Drive), then turn left to reach Main Gate/Visitor Center off Vandegrift Blvd

    Hold Harmless Agreement - Both applicant and parent/guardian must:

  • Review all terms

  • Sign electronically by typing name in signature box

  • Agree to all liability waivers and risk assumptions
  • Participation Agreement - Parent/guardian must:

  • Review and acknowledge all terms

  • Release U.S. Marine Corps and Devil Pups from liability claims

  • Authorize emergency medical treatment if needed
