With awards of up to $30,000 per year for salaries and $3,000 for travel, this initiative targets physicians trained in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics. The program underscores the necessity for specialized training in light of the increasing CF patient population and encourages applications from those affiliated with accredited CF programs.Overview
About the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives by funding research and drug development, partnering with the CF community, and advancing high-quality, specialized care. To achieve this mission, various types of grants and awards are offered to support meritorious research in CF. Developing Innovative Gastroenterology Specialty Training (DIGEST) Program Program Overview/Description The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CF Foundation) recognizes the growing demand for physicians trained to address the unique gastroenterology needs of CF patients and the need for a greater GI focus in the clinical research enterprise. To expand the availability of CF-GI experts, the CF Foundation announces the fifth Developing Innovative GastroEnterology Specialty Training (DIGEST) Program. Accordingly, the CF Foundation is releasing this Request for Applications (RFA) for training awards to physicians interested in developing expertise in the gastroenterology care of patients with CF. Given the growing and aging adult CF population, adult GI physicians are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants may request up to $30,000 per year for Salaries & Benefits, and up to $3,000 per year for Travel. An additional twelve percent (12%) of indirect costs may be requested per year for up to three (3) years of support.Eligibility
