DCSD Perseverance Scholarship

Funder: The Foundation for Douglas County Schools

Geographic Scope: Douglas County School District (DCSD), Colorado

Purpose: Recognize and support students who have overcome personal challenges and need financial assistance to continue their education after high school graduation.

Eligibility:

  • DCSD graduating high school seniors

  • Students who have overcome personal challenges

  • Students demonstrating grit, determination, and resiliency
  • Selection Process:

  • School administrators nominate recipients

  • Scholarship committee reviews nominations
  • Award Amount: $2,000 per scholarship

    Background:

  • Since 1988, the Perseverance Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships

  • Last school year (2024-2025), thirteen $2,000 scholarships were awarded to graduating DCSD seniors
  • Funding: Supported through the Perseverance Golf Tournament and the Metzler Family Education Fund matching donations
