DC Locally Made Manufacturing Grant Program Purpose: The purpose of the Program is to encourage shopping and producing goods locally, increase employment opportunities for local residents, and offer light manufacturing opportunities that provide economic stability, mitigate blight, and add vibrancy to the Great Streets corridors. The Program will support qualified small businesses for capital or tenant improvements to commercial property. Light manufacturing is defined as the process of making goods for consumers using light machinery and equipment. Light manufacturing involves the business of assembling, fabricating, or processing raw materials or semi-finished goods into finished products using a combination of labor, machinery, and equipment. These finished products may include, but may not be limited to, clothing, toys, electronics, furniture, food, and beverage products. DMPED seeks to invest in local small businesses that primarily produce consumer goods or consumer durables and are located in one of the 15 Retail Priority Corridors (or Great Streets Corridors).Eligibility
