About the Foundation David B. Lichtenstein Sr. attended law school and went on to establish the Liberty Loan Corp., which ultimately grew to more than 200 offices. His business success allowed him to formalize his philanthropy in 1947 and found the David B Lichtenstein Foundation, a 501(c)(3). David Sr. left behind a successful business and a legacy of charitable giving. His company closed its doors years ago. David B. Lichtenstein Jr. took over to carry on his fathers legacy. Davida Lichtenstein continues the philanthropic work of her family, keeping the promise of the David B. Lichtenstein Foundation alive through contributions to charitable organizations in Missouri. Focus Areas The foundation is currently considering grants in five major areas: Cancer Awareness – to foster innovation and research and support clinical services and outreach. Assistance to Special Needs People – to support organizations that provide programs and services to children and adults with disabilities. Health and Welfare – to assist organizations providing health programs and services for children and young adults. Food Banks Zoological Services – to foster education and provide support for animal conservation and research.
