Dave Harris Award of Excellence Grant

The Dave Harris Fund was originally fundraised through the NCHSAA Endowment and is now managed under the NCHSAA Foundation, Inc. This award recognizes the late Dave Harris, former athletic director and system athletic director for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
This award seeks to recognize and honor one or more system athletic directors or school-based athletic directors who has:
Positively impacted his or her athletic administrators/coaches within their respective county or school and on a statewide level as a mentor and peer collaborator;An impeccable reputation amongst his or her peers for championing good behaviour and exemplifying integrity and fairness;Demonstrated leadership, resourcefulness, and promotion of professional development amongst athletic personnel within the school(s) he/she se

Eligibility

Minimum of five (5) years of athletic director (assistant or head) experience at an NCHSAA member school or a minimum of five (5) years as system athletic director.Must be an active athletic director at the system or local level during the year of consideration for the award.Must be recognized as having contributed to high school athletics on a statewide or national level. Examples might include:Contributions to the work of the NCHSAA.Contributions to the work of the NIAAA.Nominee shall have contributed to the success of high school athletics in his/her school system or school.
