CyberCorps Scholarship for Service (SFS)

Award Amount: $25,000 per year as an undergraduate

Program Focus: Cybersecurity and information technology careers supporting federal, state, local, and tribal government cybersecurity needs

Purpose: Recruits and trains the next generation of:

  • Information technology professionals

  • Industrial control system security experts

  • Security managers
  • Eligibility:

  • Information Systems Technology (IST) major or cybersecurity-related field

  • Full-time student status required

  • Minimum 3.7 GPA (based on example recipient)

  • First-generation college students, students with documented disabilities, or students from lower economic backgrounds may have priority (TRiO eligible)
  • Program Requirements:

  • Full-time participation in studies and related activities

  • Complete summer internship with local government office

  • Work obligation: 3 years for government upon finishing bachelor's degree

  • Covers final undergraduate year at community college

  • Continues for 2+ years when transferring to 4-year institution for bachelor's degree
