Focus Areas: Bold, high-risk, high-reward projects to rapidly advance understanding and treatment of medulloblastoma, including:

  • Biology & Mechanisms: Molecular, genetic, and epigenetic drivers of medulloblastoma pathogenesis

  • Therapeutic Innovation: Novel targeted agents, immunotherapies, and approaches to personalization/precision medicine

  • Translational Impact: Studies bridging laboratory discoveries to clear clinical application pathways

  • Projects designed to generate pilot/seed data positioning investigators for larger external funding
  • Award Details:

  • Up to $150,000 per award

  • 2 awards available

  • Disbursed over 2 years (milestones in 2026 and 2027)
  • Eligibility:

  • Researchers worldwide affiliated with accredited academic institutions, hospitals, or research organizations

  • Multidisciplinary and collaborative projects encouraged

  • Investigators at all stages of career eligible

  • Preliminary data is NOT a prerequisite

  • Clinical trials are NOT eligible for funding

    Application Process

    Step 1: Letter of Intent (LOI) Submission

    1. Submit a Letter of Intent (maximum 1 page) including:
    - Objectives/aims
    - Brief methodology
    - Expected outcomes
    - Concise innovation paragraph
    - References (additional page permitted)

    2. Format Requirements:
    - Times New Roman, 11pt font
    - 1" margins
    - Single PDF file
    - Separate cover page with:
    - Proposal title
    - Principal investigator name
    - File labeled with PI name

    3. LOI Deadline: March 1, 2026 by 11:59 pm ET
    - Submit to: grants@solvingkidscancer.org

    Step 2: Full Proposal (by invitation only)

    1. Selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposal
    2. Full Proposal Deadline: May 1, 2026

    Evaluation Criteria:

  • Scientific merit and originality/innovation

  • Feasibility and methodological rigor

  • Investigator qualifications and track record

  • Relevance to medulloblastoma

  • Potential impact, including likelihood of leveraging larger funding opportunities
  • Reporting Requirements:

  • Progress and financial reports required prior to second-year milestone

  • Final report required at project completion

  • Successful projects may be considered for renewal or supplemental funding based on results
