Creative Community Fund

The Creative Community Fund was established in 2023 in honor of Maryo Gard Ewell's retirement and dedication to enriching communities through the arts. The fund awards grants annually to organizations and community groups for projects, programs, and events that creatively connect and enrich the Gunnison Valley community.

Geographic Scope: Gunnison Valley, Colorado

Focus Areas:
Projects, programs, and events that address at least three of the following criteria:

• Strengthen existing ties or build new connections among people or groups
• Create beauty and/or joy
• Include the arts
• Address a community issue or reality in a creative way

Eligibility: Organizations and community groups operating in the Gunnison Valley

Evaluation Criteria: Proposals are evaluated by CFGV staff with special attention to ideas that are:

• Compelling and imaginative
• Aligned with the spirit of the fund

How to Apply

1. Access the Application: Find the application on CFGV's Grants page at cfgv.org/grants
2. Complete the Proposal: Address at least three of the following questions in your proposal:
   • How does the project strengthen existing ties or build new connections among people or groups?
   • How does the project create beauty and/or joy?
   • How does the project include the arts?
   • How does the project address a community issue or reality in a creative way?
3. Submit Application: Submit through the GRANTS page on cfgv.org
4. Review Process: Proposals are evaluated by CFGV staff with special attention paid to ideas that are compelling, imaginative, and aligned with the spirit of the fund.
