COVID-19 Relief Fund

Status: One-time emergency fund (created during COVID-19 pandemic)

Fund Amount: $250,000 special emergency fund

Distribution:

  • First $130,000 distributed to: Sierra Community House, Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, Sierra Senior Services, Tahoe Forest Health Foundation, Tahoe Food Hub, TTUSD (Meals Program), and Placer County Seroprevalence Study

  • Additional $120,000 to be distributed to local organizations providing relief to full-time residents

  • Tahoe-Truckee region
  • Focus Areas - Emergency Services Provided:

  • Hunger relief

  • Peer counseling

  • Mental health support

  • Sierra Community House (100% increase in food delivery demand)

  • Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe (dinner service at three sites)

  • Sierra Senior Services (Meals on Wheels, 30% increase in requests)

  • Tahoe Forest Health System (ventilators, PPE, drive-by clinic, emergency staffing)

  • Tahoe Food Hub ('Giving Box' program for unemployed restaurant workers)

  • Tahoe Truckee School District (meal services for children 18 and under)

  • Placer County COVID-19 Seroprevalence Study
