COVID-19 Emergency Grants

Overview: Partnership between United Way of South Mississippi and Gulf Coast Community Foundation to provide emergency grants to nonprofits addressing direct needs caused by COVID-19 disruptions.

Geographic Scope: Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River, and Stone Counties (UWSM service area)

Focus Areas:

  • Emergency assistance for job losses and service disruptions

  • Essential needs support for individuals and families facing financial difficulties

  • Rapid response solutions for service gaps
  • Eligible Services:

  • Temporary housing

  • Rental assistance

  • Food and hygiene products

  • Medications

  • Other essential needs
  • Award Information: $65,000 awarded to four agencies in response to COVID-19 pandemic
