Core Funding

Program Focus: Central funding program dedicated to improving the mental health and emotional well-being of children in Jackson County, Missouri.

Geographic Scope: Jackson County, Missouri

Funding Categories: Supports 10 service areas:

  • Counseling and Assessment

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Family Support Interventions

  • Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment

  • Outpatient Substance Use Treatment

  • Prevention Services

  • Respite Care

  • Supports for Teen Parents

  • Temporary Shelter (up to 30 days)

  • Transitional Living
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Missouri-based nonprofit organizations or government entities

  • Currently provide services to children ages 19 and under in Jackson County, Missouri

  • Incorporated or authorized to do business in Missouri as a not-for-profit corporation or government entity

  • Require all employees and volunteers to maintain confidentiality

  • Provide services regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disabling conditions

  • Require criminal background screening for employees and volunteers providing direct services

  • Commit to using funds for only secular, public benefit programs (no religious worship or instruction)

  • Must be certified or licensed to provide funded services, if applicable
  • What Can Be Funded:

  • Psychological evaluations and mental health screenings

  • Therapy and therapeutic case management

  • Short-term acute mental health services

  • Home and community-based services

  • Comprehensive psychiatric services including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management

  • Outpatient substance use services

  • Prevention and coping skills training

  • Temporary child care/respite care

  • Services for teen parents

  • Up to 30 days of temporary shelter

  • Safe living arrangements and transitional housing support
  • What Cannot Be Funded:

  • Inpatient medical, psychiatric, and chemical dependency services

  • Transportation services

  • Capital campaigns

  • Construction and building expenses
  • Funding Cycles: Two available:
    1. Calendar Year Funding (January 1 - December 31): For traditional nonprofit organizations
    2. Academic Year Funding (July 1 - June 30): For schools and school-based/school-adjacent services

    Operating Model: Reimbursement-based - Partners submit requests for reimbursement up to awarded amount

    Board/Decision Making: All funding decisions made by CSF Board of Directors. Outcomes communicated to all applicants regardless of decision. Organizations not selected are encouraged to debrief with CSF team for future success.

    Application Process

    Step 1: Confirm Eligibility
    Verify your organization meets all six eligibility requirements before proceeding.

    Step 2: Complete Organizational Profile
    1. Register organization through CSF Partner Portal (FLUXX)
    - Navigate to Children's Services Fund of Jackson County | Sign In
    - Click "Create Account"
    - Complete eligibility quiz
    - If eligible, proceed to Organization Registration page

    2. Complete Organization Information:
    - Use GuidStart Profile Lookup (search your organization name to pre-fill fields)
    - Enter organization legal name (no abbreviations or acronyms)
    - Enter DBA (Doing Business As) if applicable
    - Enter 9-digit EIN in format: 12-3456789
    - Submit user contact information
    - Click Submit Request

    Step 3: Apply for Funding
    Access CSF Partner Portal to complete appropriate funding application.

    2026 Calendar Year Funding Timeline:

  • May 4, 2026: Letter of Intent Opens

  • May 29, 2026: Letter of Intent Due

  • June 22, 2026: Invitation to Apply Sent

  • July 24, 2026: Full Project Proposal Due

  • August 17, 2026: Partner Conversations Begin

  • September 11, 2026: Partner Conversations Conclude

  • October 5, 2026: External Affairs State Discussion

  • October 16, 2026: Funding Decisions Announced
