Continuing Education Grants

Purpose: Provide financial support for employees of METRO member institutions to attend conferences, classes, courses, and professional development opportunities when their institutions cannot provide funding.

Mission Alignment: Lifelong learning and collaboration are central to METRO's mission.

Geographic Scope: METRO member institutions

Eligible Activities:

  • Professional conferences

  • Learning programs and courses

  • Networking opportunities

  • In-person and remote events related to the library services profession

    • Award Amount: Up to $500 per recipient

    Eligible Expenses:

  • Registration fees

  • Housing costs

  • Travel expenses

    • Funding Timeline:

  • Grants allocated in the spring 2026 round must be used between July 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026

    • Reimbursement Process:

  • Funding provided on a reimbursement basis

  • Recipients must submit within two weeks of event conclusion:

    • - Summary of their experiences
    - Invoice and all receipts
