Conservation Leadership Corps

Program Type: Educational leadership development program for college students

Geographic Scope: Louisiana

Eligibility:

  • Current college/university students (Freshman through Senior classification)

  • Must be able to commit to attending all four weekend sessions during fall 2026 and early spring 2027

  • Open to all academic majors and career paths
  • Focus Areas:

  • Conservation leadership development

  • Natural resource management

  • Environmental education and outdoor recreation

  • Wildlife conservation

  • Four weekend sessions (three in-person at various locations around Louisiana, one virtual via Zoom)

  • Essay Questions (Required - thoughtful responses strongly encouraged):
    1. What sparks your passion for conservation? (Include personal experiences, education, involvement with groups/organizations)
    2. Thinking big: How do you envision the future of natural resource conservation? What key elements do you see shaping it?
    3. Describe any environmental, conservation, and/or outdoor activities you've participated in (hunting, fishing, hiking, birding, camping, wildlife photography, wildlife watching, etc.), including memberships in related groups/organizations
    4. EV-CLC welcomes all career paths and academic backgrounds. What are your career ambitions or goals?
    5. Why do you want to be a member of the Conservation Leadership Corps? What are you hoping to get out of the experience?

    Commitment Verification:

  • Must confirm ability to commit to attending all four weekend sessions
