Community Values Scholarship

Background: The scholarship has honored the volunteerism, activism, and mentorship of more than 80 students.

Geographic Scope: Wisconsin (UW System schools, Madison College, and Edgewood College)

Focus Areas:

• Volunteerism and community service
• Student activism and advocacy
• Mentorship and peer support
• Issues including tuition equity, sexual violence prevention, support for international and first-generation students
• Financial stability and educational outcomes

Award Details:

• Total Annual Award: $30,000 distributed to approximately 10 students
• Per Student Award: $3,000 per recipient
• Distribution: Funds are directly deposited into tuition accounts

Eligibility Requirements:

• New or returning full-time undergraduate students
• Attending a UW System school, Madison College, or Edgewood College
• Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, activism, and/or mentorship
• Focus on helping others and community engagement

• Leadership in community service
• Demonstrated impact on campus and community

Winners included students from UW-Milwaukee, Edgewood College, UW-Stevens Point, Madison College, UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater, and UW-La Crosse working on initiatives ranging from refugee support to DACA student advocacy to veteran recognition programs.
