Overview: Multi-year initiative that invests in nonprofits leading community-driven strategies to strengthen safety, resilience, and well-being through innovative, ground-level solutions.

Status: Launched May 2025; multi-year initiative

Geographic Scope: Greater Memphis and Mid-South region

Focus Areas:

Community safety and public safety

Well-being and resilience

Creating innovative, tangible solutions to address critical challenges

Community-driven strategies executed by organizations deeply connected to the communities they serve

Addressing systemic issues related to justice system, policing practices, youth incarceration alternatives, community healing, and violence prevention

Funding Source: FOREVER Funds

Total Awarded (First Round - May 2025): $450,000 to five organizations

Award Range: $50,000 - $150,000 (based on first round awards)

Diversity: Eighty percent of funded agencies are led by executive directors/CEOs of color

Decision Making: Volunteer Community Initiatives Committee
